The popular New Zealand band Fat Freddy’s Drop is celebrating the 21st anniversary of their debut studio album “Based On A True Story” with a major concert at Poolen in Copenhagen on June 4, 2026.
The upcoming world tour marks 21 years since the release of the band’s groundbreaking debut album “Based On A True Story”, which also received widespread acclaim from music critics in Denmark. The album changed the game for modern soul, reggae, and funk, establishing Fat Freddy’s Drop as one of the world’s most acclaimed and beloved bands.
The tour will also be the band’s first series of concerts since the tragic passing of co-founder Chris “Mu” Faiumu. The band has decided to continue the planned tour to honor his memory and the musical community they built together.
