Folk phenomenon Lizzy McAlpine plays her first Danish show at Poolen

NME has dubbed her “TikTok’s favourite sad girl”, while Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish’s brother Finneas have praised her songwriting abilities. Lizzy McAlpine’s ability to craft poignant songs that beautifully tie together influences from folk, indie and singer-songwriter traditions is truly unique.

A true Gen Z artist, born in 1999, Lizzy McAlpine took her first musical steps by uploading covers and original songs to SoundCloud and YouTube. The attention she attracted led to the release of her debut album, Give Me a Minute, in 2020. Her major breakthrough came with 2022’s Five Seconds Flat, which charted on the prestigious Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100, while the single “Ceilings” became a major hit on TikTok.

Now, Lizzy McAlpine is entering a new chapter with her fourth full-length album, Angel, which has just been released. The new album draws inspiration from the legendary 1970s Laurel Canyon scene – home to artists such as Joni Mitchell, The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash – as well as modern indie rock.
