Rap phenomenon EsDeeKid plays major show in Denmark

After a ferocious set at this year’s Roskilde Festival, masked Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid returns to Denmark for a major indoor show, tearing up Poolen on Friday 6 November.

Known for his mysterious image and raw, breakneck energy, EsDeeKid has gone from the UK underground to viral phenomenon in no time. First the single “LV Sandals” blew up online, then came the debut album Rebel, sold-out shows and a tour with Yung Lean.

There’s something unpredictable about EsDeeKid. One moment he glides effortlessly over hazy, almost dreamlike production; the next he’s hammering through heavy drill beats with an intensity that feels close to out of control. It’s all tied together by his thick Scouse accent, which makes him sound like no one else on the UK rap scene.

His world spans UK drill, trap and hazy cloud rap, where grimy synths and off-kilter loops collide with a flow that constantly shifts pace. The music thrives on contrast: the verses are delivered at a furious pace, while the production often feels sluggish, psychedelic and almost weightless. That combination has made him one of the most exciting names in the new wave of British rap, drawing as much from the internet underground as from the classic UK drill scene.
