Country, folk, and indie rock blending into beautiful cinematic hymns—this is the musical recipe that has made Lord Huron one of the most prominent folk groups in the U.S. over the past decade, with more than 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The American quartet, named after one of the largest lakes in the U.S., made their album debut in 2012 with "Lonesome Dreams." However, it was with their follow-up, "Strange Trails" (2015), that the group’s distinctive sound truly captured the attention of a larger audience. Their music beautifully bridges classic American musical traditions and modern songwriting—like similar acts such as Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket, and Bon Iver.
"Strange Trails" reached 23rd place on the official U.S. album chart, topped the folk chart, and was also a hit in Canada and Australia. A key element of its success was the single "The Night We Met," which gained significant attention through its feature in the Netflix hit series 13 Reasons Why. The song has been awarded gold and platinum certifications and has more than 2.5 billion streams on Spotify. In 2018, Phoebe Bridgers reinterpreted the track for the series’ second season.
Following this success, Lord Huron signed with the major U.S. label Republic (Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Ben Howard), which released the group’s two most recent albums, "Vide Noir" (2018) and "Long Lost" (2021). These albums reached number 9 and 23 on the U.S. album chart, respectively, and both topped the folk chart. Critics also love Lord Huron, with their latest album receiving praise from respected music outlets such as Uncut, Mojo, The Guardian, and The Independent.
Lord Huron’s most recent release is the score for the film "The Starling Girl," which came out in 2023. Since then, the group has been working on new tracks, which fans will likely get to hear when the quartet treats their Danish audience to a concert on September 6th at Poolen.
