K-pop star ONEW performs at Poolen

The South Korean singer and songwriter, ONEW, who is also part of the hit K-pop band Shinee, will give a concert on November 18th at Poolen on Refshaleøen.

As a member of the group Shinee and a successful solo artist, he has helped shape his home country's legendary pop scene for three decades - despite the fact that he is only in his mid-30s.

ONEW was discovered and signed as a teenager by the trend-setting music company SM Entertainment in 2006, and in 2008 he debuted as the lead singer of the boy band Shinee. The group is often referred to as the “Princes of K-pop,” and the majority of their eight studio albums have topped the Korean album charts. They have received multiple platinum records in their home country and toured internationally with their catchy mix of R&B, pop, funk, hip-hop, and electronic music.

In 2018, ONEW made his solo debut with the EP “Voice,” which entered the South Korean charts at number 2. After completing his military service, he followed up in 2022 with the six-track “Dice,” which reached number 3, underscoring his great popularity.

Since then, he has released several more albums, the latest of which, “Connection”, was released in early 2025 and reached the top 5 in both South Korea and Japan. The EP is a confident demonstration of ONEW’s stylish sense of writing catchy modern pop songs. Like Shinee, ONEW alternates between Korean and English lyrics in his songs, which means that he also has a large fan base outside his home country. He has therefore toured in the USA, among other places.

Later this year, ONEW will hop on the tour bus to complete the international tour “ONEW THE LIVE : PERCENT (%)”. On November 18, the bus will stop at Poolen in Copenhagen, where Danish K-pop fans can look forward to experiencing his musical masterclass.
