Electronic music is typically created digitally, but the German band Meute turns that assumption on its head with their phenomenal, live-played take on the techno genre. The marching band from Hamburg consists of 11 people using brass instruments and drums, replacing computers, plugins, and DJ booths with their acoustic instruments. The result combines the hypnotic repetition and danceable climaxes of the techno genre with the infectious, expressive energy of brass music.
Meute was formed in 2015, when they began performing in the streets of their hometown, quickly becoming a viral sensation with their organic interpretations of electronic classics. In 2017, they released their debut album "Tumult" including their cover of the Danish artist Trentemøller's "Miss You" and have since gained international fame, touring in Europe, the USA, Canada, and South Africa.
Live, Meute's musical talents truly shine as the band, dressed in uniform red outfits and bathed in a spectacular light show, elevates the atmosphere as a collective party organism. When they take the stage at Poolen, they will bring their brand-new fifth album "EMPOR," which features both covers of others' tracks and Meute's own compositions.
